I have been selling and reselling Vintage jewelry for about 4 years now. I discover something new everyday!
I have purchased 16 books covering signed, unsigned, AVON, CORO, SARAH COVENTRY, TRIFARI, WEISS, more, more and more. Plus, I have several sites bookmarked. You would think that I would recognize many of the pieces that I come across, Right? Wrong! There are so many! I don't have the time to look them up and see what they are worth, so I end up selling expensive collectibles for next to nothing. And when I do have time to browse my books, etc, I see something that makes my heart sink. I gave it away...

I must take time out daily to just thumb through a book, at least a few pages. It is so captivating and collecting this stuff is so addicting! It's just plain out eye candy for me.

I got a book yesterday on AVON jewelry. Ya know, people don't appreciate what AVON's jewelry is actually worth! The older pieces sometimes are worth $50.00 or more! And of course, some is only worth $5.00. But, see, that is where these books come in. I'm keeping a lot of my AVON jewelry from now on.

OLA BENEFIT AUCTION FOR COUPLE STRANDED AT SEA

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Her dramatic rescue Monday afternoon was captured on camera by the U.S. Coast Guard. Whitney Navas, 22, was plucked from the chilly waters of the Mississippi Sound and pulled to safety onto a helicopter.

"We have been touched by an angel," said Whitney Navas. "I mean, we had went 25 hours and didn't see not one boat, not one plane. Didn't see nothing. Nobody. No land, trees. Just water. And then to actually see a helicopter right in front of you. You just wanted to hug everybody and cry."

Navas' husband, Jonathan, and two friends were also rescued after their boat capsized a few miles from Horn Island. Their friend, Ocean Springs Police officer Stephen Bond, is still missing.

"Very panicked, because you see that stuff in movies and you never think that's going to happen to you," said Navas. "But I mean it was true life. You had to grab a life vest and try to stay calm."

During those long hours filled with fear and uncertainty, Navas says her husband helped keep her hopes up. The couple married just five weeks ago.

"I think he said he was ordering six large pizzas when we got home, and just talked about how 'We ain't been married very long. We can't go out like this,'" Navas recalled with a smile.

Navas prayed for a miracle. Then, out of nowhere, a helicopter appeared.

"We already took our life vests off, waving them in the air, hoping they'd see the orange. We were screaming and crying and holding each other. We're going home. We're going home," said Navas.

Navas is grateful to be alive and thankful to be back on land.

"It will make you appreciate yourself more to know that you're not untouchable. Anything can happen to you," she said. "Blessed. Very blessed. I didn't think this many people cared. But I'm glad to be stable. Be still and not on the water."

Great Days at OLA

Tiz been a while since I've posted here. Busy, Busy with OLA!

Did you know that you can actually run your own business there? Like, I just finished up a 99 cent sale! It was a great success! And they let me advertise it. Yep! You can advertise your items on OLA. Not many selling venues, can you do that.

Check it out! OLA is growing leaps and bounds. And, it's fun and easy!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Isn't life grand? Eat all the holiday goodies, then starve oneself to lose the extra jelly (oops! I mean belly) roll...

I have a great Easy Healthy Recipe, that I will share with you. It is filling and tastes wonderful!

Impossible Salmon & Asparagus Pie

Ingredients:
1 lb. fresh asparagus, cut into 1 inch pieces (2 cups)
4 medium green onions, sliced (1/4 cup)
1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss Cheese (6 oz)
1 can (6 oz.) skinless boneless pink salmon, drained
1/2 cup Bisquick or Pioneer Mix
1 cup milk
1 1/2 tsp chopped fresh or 1/2 tsp dried basil leaves
1/8 tsp pepper
2 eggs

Fix:

Heat oven to 400 degrees.

Pam a deep dish pie plate (glass is best)

Sprinkle asparagus, onions, 3/4 cup of the cheese and the salmon into the plate.

Stir remaining ingredients until blended. Pour over the mixture in the pie plate.

Bake 30 - 35 mins until done in center. It usually takes a little longer (especially if you add extra cheese).

When done, sprinkle with remaining 3/4 cup cheese. Bake about 2 more minutes until the cheese is melted.

Let stand a few minutes, eat and enjoy!!!!

This makes 8 servings.
175 calories per serving
Fat 10g
Cholesterol 85mg
Sodium 310 mg
Carbs 8g
Protein 14g

You can exchange the veggies to broccoli and use ham, that is good too. Use approx. the same amounts.

Kids even like this. Kind of a faux quiche!

Wow, what a busy time of year. We were blessed to have all of our children and grandchildren over Christmas. Now, to clean house!!

Do you have a New Year's Resolution, yet?
One of mine is to promote OLA in a big way, and make more friends there. I DO believe that OLA will become the most successful auction site online, and am happy to be there. The OLA community is banding together to make sure that happens. You know the saying, "Power in Numbers."
